Aspects of spectral traces as they concern place-based research from multi-disciplinary perspectives are traced through social, geographical, artistic and performative modes, looking at history, cultural memory, philosophy, aesthetics and phenomenological observations. The appeal to ways of knowing is layered with attention to specificity, the lived experience and affirmation of the work of many individuals.
