Shaping the Qualitative Phase of Contemporary Chinese Art at the Soap Factory: a collaborative residency project with the University of Minnesota, The Soap Factory, and Beijing Artists' Village
From Professor Tom Rose, exhibition curator:
This exhibition is sponsored by the Department of Art, the Soap Factory, the Henry Luce Foundation and a dedicated group of private donors whose generosity has helped to establish this as an ongoing program for creative and cultural education.
This program —The Beijing Collaborative Exchange, (BCE)— has assisted over one hundred students, artists and scholars from the departments of Art, Theater, and Asian languages and Literatures at the U of M; and from China, the Beijing Film Academy, and the Beijing Central Academy of Fine Art— to advance their careers and their understanding of the cross cultural transitions occurring in and influenced by the arts and humanities.
Artist’s talk: July 11th, 6-7pm
Exhibition runs through August 30.
