Hey everybody!
As you may know, the student group Freedom By Design is still looking for art donations for its annual Art Auction. This event works towards the collecting of art in order to raise money for the student group. The event is going to be held on April 16th and any donation will help. Their mission as a student group is:
Freedom By Design is a non-profit community service program that utilizes the talents of architecture students to radically impact the lives of people in their community through modest design and construction solutions. Vital modifications are made to enhance the homes of low-income and disabled individuals by addressing their struggles with everyday tasks such as bathing, ascending stairs and opening doors. Our priority is improving the safety, comfort, and dignity of the home's occupants. Freedom By Design (FBD) teaches students how to resolve accessibility issues while simultaneously providing them with the real world experience of working with a client, mentorship from a constructor, and an understanding of the practical impact of architecture and design.
Freedom By Design is looking for anybody willing to donate art (ceramics, painting, drawings, etc.) for the art auction this year. All the money made from donated art will go to AIAS and Freedom by Design and no profit will be made by the donors.
If you are interested in donating art for the cause, please bring your work to the Advising Office E223 in the Regis Art Building, DEADLINE APRIL 10. If you want more information about the event, want to know where to collect unsold art, or have questions about any other matters pertaining to the event, please contact Shane Cory at coryx022@umn.edu.
