Join us for an onstage conversation between MIA Curator of African Art Jan-Lodewijk Grootaers and Vincent James and Jennifer Yoos, the architects behind the redesign of the future African art galleries at the MIA. See sneak peeks of gallery renderings and insights into the design process. Moderated by Alex Bortolot.
James is founding principal of VJAA. In 2005, he was named a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects. He has held academic positions at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design and the University of Minnesota. He is currently Cass Gilbert Professor-in-Practice at the U. of M. School of Architecture.
Yoos is a principal at VJAA. She has practiced architecture both independently and with firms in Minneapolis and London. She received a Loeb Fellowship in Urban and Environmental Studies at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design.
Bortolot, PhD, is Content Strategist at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
